Leaves are composed of oval leaflets with toothed edges arranged fern-like in pairs down the leaf stem. Young plants form a rosette of leaves close to the ground. Stems grow up to 3 ft. tall and are topped with clusters of pink five-petaled flowers 6 to 12 flowers that mature to long seed stems. Prefers dry, sandy soils.
