Lance-like leaves on multibranched stems with a low, spreading habit. Leaves are lance-shaped and alternate along stems, green, and may have a black or purple mark in the center. Young leaves and stems are reddish. Knobby pink and white flowers are clustered along spikes at the ends of stems. Tolerates a wide range of soils.
