Preen Lawn Crabgrass Control should be applied in the spring or fall prior to weed seed germination for control of weeds in established yards. For the ultimate in season-long weed control, apply in the fall with a sequential or second application the following spring. If the product is applied in the fall, do not reseed, overseed, or sprig turfgrasses within 12 weeks after application.
To optimize product performance, apply this product within a few days after mowing and delay mowing again for a few days after the application. Apply evenly and uniformly over the turfgrass area, avoiding streaking, skips, or overlaps. Weed control will be most effective when Preen Lawn Crabgrass Control is activated by rainfall or irrigation. Performance is improved if application is followed by ½ inch of rainfall or irrigation. Erratic weed control may result if not activated by rainfall or irrigation within 30 days after application.
Use of Preen Lawn Crabgrass Control on lawns and ornamental turfgrasses that are not well-established or have been weakened by stress may increase the chances of turfgrass injury. Stresses include injury due to mechanical operations, pests, excessive temperatures, or lack of moisture. Do not apply this product to lawns or turfgrasses that are under stress.
