Weed Characteristics

Other Names: common chickweed, nodding chickweed, satin flower, winterweed, bindweed, starweed, starwort

Leaf Type: Broadleaf

Flowers: White, tiny with five deeply lobed petals

Leaves: Ovate smooth edged leaves with some hair

Life Cycle: Winter annual

Small, rounded leaves on creeping stems. Forms a low, spreading mat. Thrives in cool, moist areas with some shade. Flowers are in clusters at the ends of stems. Found in lawns and gardens.
