Leaves are coarse and triangular with coarsely toothed edges. Stems are typically reddish. Growth is upright. Large flowers are followed by distinctive seed pods covered in spines. Grows to 5 ft. tall. A member of the nightshade family, all parts of the plant can be toxic in large doses.
