Leaves are smooth, long and narrowly oval. Foliage of seedlings and young plants is typically red-purple. Leaves are sparse and may fall when blooms appear. Grows 3 to 4 ft. tall with an upright habit and woody main stem. Flowers in late summer and fall. Drought tolerant.
