Weed Characteristics

Other Names: pearl millet, pigeongrass, wild millet, yellow bristlegrass, golden foxtail, summer-grass

Leaf Type: Grassy

Flowers: Green spikelets

Leaves: Linear leaves with smooth edges and some hair

Life Cycle: Summer annual

A clumping, upright grass. Leaves are hairless except at the base. Seed heads are bristly foxtails and turn yellow when mature. Stems are smooth and upright, and are often red at the base. Grows up to 3 ft. tall.
